Alex McLeod is a Toronto-based visual artist who creates works on interconnectedness, life cycles and empathy. He uses the computer as a medium of expression and draws inspiration from the media and mechanisms of social networks. He also enjoys working on the themes of the built environment, adaptation, life, death and the invisible space between the two. From all of this, he creates technically sophisticated 3D environments that serve as a backdrop for advertising campaigns as well as film narration for music clips. He perceives his prints, animations and sculptures as bridges to alternate dimensions, oscillating between the real and the imaginary.
Alex holds a BFA in Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design and a Master’s in Digital Media from Ryerson University’s Yeates School of Graduate Studies in Toronto. His works are part of private and public collections around the world. It has already been exhibited around the world, from Toronto to Vancouver to Vienna, Miami and many others.
