Very early on, Genaro Bardy was fascinated by the photographs that document his travels, architecture and complex urban atmospheres. After working for about ten years with major communication agencies and, among others, for the Salon du Chocolat, he decided to become familiar with street photography when handling a camera for the first time. At the age of 32, he discovered the new language of images, points of view, composition and great photographers.

He decided to become a photographer during a report he made in Mali, which turned out to be a real initiatory journey for him. After having trained himself and learning from his experiences in the field, he then published his photographs, successful to the point of being published in the international press (The Guardian, Le Monde, L'Obs, L'Express, Les Inrocks, Daily Mail). He has also worked on prestigious collaborations (Colette, Nouvelles Frontières, Volkswagen, Meetic, Devialet among many others). He is the author of two photo books, Ville Déserte and La Ville Miraculeuse (texts by Marie Lemeland), and an educational book: VA, Lettre à un. As a young photographer, he also teaches photography at workshops in Paris, London and Barcelona.
