Marina Vernicos was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She studied communication and photography at Emerson College in Boston and business administration at the Harvard Extension School. Since 2001, she has presented a number of solo and group exhibitions in distinguished galleries and museums around the world, such as the Cyclades Art Museum in Greece, the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Hangaram Art Museum in Korea, in London, Monaco and New York. She was named Photographer of the Year 2018 by the National Geographic, and was awarded many times (Global Art Awards in Dubai, "Sandro Botticelli" award in Florence...). She has collaborated on photographic projects with companies such as Mercedes, Perrier, Napapijri, Folli Follie, Sani Resort and has been selected as ambassador of Hermès, La Prairie and Omega.


As part of CREAID, a non-profit organization with a targeted humanitarian mandate, she organizes annual art exhibitions and auctions. In addition, part of the sales revenue from her own fashion brand "Marina Vernicos Collection" is donated to "We dive We clean", a group of volunteer divers who clean the seabed of Greek waters.
