Transforming public spaces into off-the-wall digital art museums.
Sarah Ann Banks is a digital artist based in Brooklyn, New York, who works mainly with 3D animation software. She uses virtual space to build an expansive world filled with fantastic objects and creatures. These creations are inspired by elements of pop culture, nature and her own personal experiences. Banks is interested in the development of stories and personalities that overlap between her works, actualizing them with her own interests and her daily life. The intrigues range from deer with thick pink eyelashes to mysterious steaming cauldrons. In her practice, Banks considers each work almost as a diary entry, which makes her work extremely personal and emotional. This feeling of emotion, passion, escape and fantasy is then transmitted to the spectator.
Banks earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from the Chicago Art Institute School in 2019. Recent clients include Instagram, Urban Decay, the New York Times and Republic Records.
