Steffen Ulbrich is a self-taught photographer born in Germany in 1965. His works are singular in the way they present a clear and abstract imagery whose original minimalism, captivating aesthetics and compositional balance are more than surprising. According to him, abstraction is a form of expression in both painting and photography. Form, colour and geometry are, under certain circumstances, unusual compositions that amaze.

Steffen was inspired by the Düsseldorfer School of Photography founded by Mr. Bernd and Ms. Hilla Becher in the 1970s. Located in Germany, this school is represented by famous photographers such as Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Axel Hütte, Thomas Ruff and Thomas Struth. Steffen also finds inspiration in nature, in the countless patterns and symmetries, lines and regularity that she offers to see. During the last eleven years of his work, he has been exhibited in various solo exhibitions in northern Germany, for example in Berlin (Berlin Art Fair - Contemporary Art Berlin), Hamburg (Affordable Art Fair) and Lunebourg (Zieglerhof Gallery). His photographic works are also permanently present in the VisuleX photography gallery in Hamburg.
