SCHWARM is a series of images rendered from a custom generative software. A collection of particles, similar to a swarm, moves on a surface leaving behind overlapping traces. Over time, the result is a unique composition, the development of which is unpredictable.
The software analyzes a sequence of images using their original color values, which it then spreads out as a brush would spread paint. The paths taken by the different lines are influenced by deterministic chance. After a predefined amount of time, a new image becomes the source of the composition and all values defining the shape and direction of motion are reset. The transition between images is transparent and barely noticeable.
