The artwork is inspired by the surprising resilience of orchids, despite their beautiful and fragile appearance. The woman is suspended in the block of water, her dress floating ethereally, similar to how an orchid would be when grown in water. In this scene, she is defiant, beautiful and delicate but none of which are necessarily a replacement for loneliness. We display our strongest exteriors to the world but we nonetheless float in our own versions of a void trying to find our way. ⁠
